Shattered On Saturday » Biography

Biography

The idea of Shattered On Saturday was originally conceived on July 14, 2006, as Songs Of the South (S.O.S). It was made up of two guitarists: Sophie Berry and Blake Matthews. A few months later, Dillon D’ambrosio was added on drums, and in January 2007, bassist Miles McPherson was added. In Songs of the South, they had a fair amount of local success for a short period of time.

Things didn’t really start to take off until SOS played for almost 300 people at a show at Fuquay High. The bands style gradually changed from Southern Rock into more of a Hard Rock sound, and the name “Songs of the South” didn’t really fit anymore. One Saturday at band practice, Dillon and Miles (in their normal amount of shenanigans) knocked over a lamp and shattered the glass everywhere. They decided to rename the band after it, as Shattered on Saturday because they always break things at practice.

The band as you know it today started on July 8th 2008 and consists of Blake Matthews on Lead Guitar and Vocals, Dillon D’ambrosio on Rhythm Guitar, Miles McPherson on Bass, and newest addition Chris Lusuriello on Drums. The band recently released an EP that includes songs: “Not Good Enough”, “Why?”, “Suck it Up”, “Scream and Shout”, “You’re Blind”, and “Decent Into Madness”. SOS is currently booked for some local shows in North Carolina.
